Chapter Awards
JCI Calgary's 2008 Chapter Awards were presented on January 31, 2009. Congratulations to the following people.
Rookie of the Year
Presented to the member who has shown the most initiative in becoming involved in promoting the development of the organization in all aspects (Local, Regional, National & International levels), Recruitment, Training & Orientation, Initiative & Enthusiasm and overall Contribution to JCI Calgary and their associated activities within their first year of becoming a member of the organization. This year JCI Calgary is happy to announce that Mike Napier is the recipient of this award.JCI Calgary Member of the Year
Presented to the Calgary JCI member who has done the most to promote the development of the organization in all aspects (Local, Regional, National & International levels), Recruitment, Training & Orientation, Initiative & Enthusiasm and overall Contribution to JCI Calgary and their associated activities after their first year of becoming a member of the organization. We are happy to announce that Donovan Deschner is the recipient of this award.JCI Calgary Board Member of the Year
Presented to the member of the JCI Calgary Board of Directors who has done the most to promote the development of the organization in all aspects (Local, Regional, National & International levels), Recruitment, Training & Orientation, Initiative & Enthusiasm and overall Contribution to the Calgary chapter in addition to fulfilling the requirements of their elected board position, made themselves visible and available to the general membership outside of meeting environments and been involved with or volunteered for the chapter's projects and programs. This year we are happy to present this award to Carolyn Opp.
In addition to the presentation of the Chapter Awards, JCI Calgary awarded one very deserving members a Senatorship in JCI. Senatorships are a lifetime membership in JCI presented to individuals who go way above and beyond the call of duty. We are happy to announce that Sheri Jamieson is a Senator in JCI.
2007 Awards
National Awards
During the 2008 JCI Canada conference, hosted by JCI Kelowna in Kelowna, BC, our local chapter took home some prestigious awards. These awards recognize the hard work, dedication, and time our members spend to create great and exciting events.
100% Chapter Efficiency Award
This is the fifth year in a row that JCI Calgary has won this award from the National Board in congratulations to our chapter for our contributions to JCI. We are one of only 2 Chapters in Canada that has Gold level status.JCI Canada Member of the Year
Patty Auger, an 11 year member of JCI, received the award for JCI Canada Member of the Year. Patty is very deserving of this award as she is committed to helping in any capacity necessary for JCI and was an integral part in JCI Calgary hosting a successful National Convention in 2007.JCI Canada Chapter President of the Year
The JCI Canada Chapter President of the Year was awarded to our 2007 and 2008 Chapter President Sheri Jamieson. Sheri has been a member of JCI since 2002 and been on the board since her first year. She took on the role of Chapter President in January 2007 and lead the Chapter through one of the most memorable years yet; hosting a National Convention and taking our chapter to new financial heights with the organization of our first casino.Best Conference or Convention in 2007
In September of 2007, JCI Calgary hosted the JCI Canada 72nd Annual National Convention and General Assembly. The planning actually started 2 years prior when the Chapter put in the bid at the 2005 National Convention. JCI Calgary set a new standard for National Conferences and had one of the most successfull and attended National Conventions in a long time. The hard work of the entire chapter allowed JCI Calgary to bring home the award for Best Conference or Convention in 2007.

This year we are happy to present this award to Lara Tierney.
In addition to the presentation of the Chapter Awards, JCI Calgary awarded 2 very deserving members a Senatorship in JCI. Western Region Awards
Western Region Effective Speaking Competition
JCI Calgary members headed off to Cranbrook BC May 3-5, 2007, where JCI Calgary member Jim Beswick competed in the Regional Effective Speaking Competition. JCI Calgary is proud to annouce that Jim Beswick is the 2007 Regional Effective Speaking Champion and will represent the Region at the JCI Canada National Effective Speaking Competition in Calgary during the National Convention, September 19-23, 2007

Every year the person who has shown the most dedication and who has huge impact on JCI Canada is awarded this award. We are very happy that award came home to Calgary to Lara.100% Chapter Efficiency Award

JCI Calgary hosted the Western Region Conference in May of 2005 and took home a prestigious recognition for all the work they did in hosting such a fantastic conference which included training, fun, and socializing.Best Individual Development Opportunity
In February of 2005, JCI Calgary created a Team Building Retreat that was a Car Rally and Scavenger Hunt. This event brought together family and friends of JCI Calgary in an afternoon of friendly competition, learning about JCI, and lots and lots of fun.
